2024 Celebrity Deaths We Will Be Remembering

As we move closer to 2024, many of us wonder what the future holds. While it’s impossible to predict all that will happen, one thing we can be certain of is that we will unfortunately lose some beloved celebrities. From Hollywood icons to music legends, these individuals have touched our lives in profound ways. And they are now sadly part of the celebrity deaths we have already experienced this year. As we remember their talents and contributions, let’s take a moment to reflect on their legacy.

Gone but Never Forgotten: 2024 Celebrity Deaths

Although the year has merely just begun, it seems like the universe is already asking us to let go of some of our favorite celebrities.

8. Lynn Yamada “Lynja” Davis (July 31, 1956 – January 1, 2024)

The most shocking celebrity death so far has been Lynja. Lynn Yamada Davis, a 67-year-old internet personality and TikTok star known for her lively and humorous cooking videos under the moniker “Cooking with Lynja,” has passed away. She gained immense popularity during the pandemic, amassing over 30 million followers on various social media platforms. Moreover, Lynn’s youngest child, Tim Davis, who edited and uploaded her videos, announced her peaceful passing on January 12 through TikTok. Lynn had brought joy to millions with her over-the-top cooking antics.

7. Christian Oliver (March 3, 1972 – January 4, 2024)

Christian Oliver, the 51-year-old German actor famous for roles in films like Speed Racer, The Good German, and Valkyrie, was announced dead, along with his two young daughters, following a plane crash in Caribbean waters on January 4. Oliver, known for his recent work in Sense8, Hunters, and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, tragically lost his life in the accident.

6. Adan Canto (December 5, 1982 – January 8, 2024)

Adan Canto, best known for his role as Arman Morales in the first two seasons of “The Cleaning Lady,” has passed away at the age of 42. Additionally, his acting career began in 2009 with “Estado de Gracia”. He gained recognition in the U.S. with his role as Paul Torres in “The Following” in 2013. Canto played Sunspot in “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and had notable roles in projects like “Mixology,” “Blood & Oil,” and “Designated Survivor,” where he portrayed Aaron Shore and appeared in all three seasons of the political drama.

5. Alec Musser (April 11, 1973 – January 18, 2024)

Alec Musser, best known for his roles in “All My Children” and “Grown Ups,” passed away on January 12 at the age of 50. Moreover, his fiancée, Paige Press, confirmed the news, stating that the model died at his home in Del Mar, Calif. Additionally, the cause of death remains unknown. In response to Musser’s death, Press and his former co-star Adam Sandler expressed grief and paid tribute to him. Sandler described him as a “wonderful, funny good man” and expressed disbelief at his passing.

4. Mickey Cottrell (September 4, 1944 – January 1, 2024)

Mickey Cottrell, the actor renowned for his roles in Star Trek and My Own Private Idaho, has passed away at the age of 79. His notable credits include appearances in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1992), Star Trek: Voyager (1997), and My Own Private Idaho (1991). In addition to acting, Cottrell also played roles in films. This includes Ed Wood (1994), Hellraiser: Bloodline (1996), and Shortbus (2006), and took on production responsibilities for projects like Big River Man (2009) and Perfect Cowboy (2014).

3. Cindy Morgan (September 29, 1954 – January 6, 2024)

Cindy Morgan, famous for her roles in “Caddyshack” and “Tron,” passed away at the age of 69 in her Lake Worth Beach, Fla. bedroom. Discovered by police after her roommate returned home and called for assistance, no foul play is suspected. The cause of death is reported as “natural causes,” according to information from a county representative.

2. Peter Crombie (June 26, 1952 – January 10, 2024)

Actor Peter Crombie, best known for his recurring role as “Crazy” Joe Davola in “Seinfeld,” passed away at the age of 71 on January 10. His ex-wife, Nadine Kijner, informed TMZ that he succumbed to a brief illness. Crombie had notable roles in films such as “My Dog Skip,” “Se7en,” and “Rising Sun,” and appeared in television shows including “NYPD Blue” and “Walker, Texas Ranger.”


1. James Kottak (December 26, 1962 – January 9, 2024)

James Kottak, the former drummer for Scorpions and Kingdom Come, passed away at the age of 61 on January 9. The news was confirmed by his daughter, Tobi. She reported to TMZ that her father died in his hometown of Louisville, Ky., that morning. The cause and manner of his death were not disclosed. Kottak is survived by his three children, whom he shared with his ex-wife, Athena Lee.
