In a resurfaced video clip from a 2016 interview on “The Howard Stern Show,” Usher candidly discusses his teenage years living with Sean “Diddy” Combs. The clip sheds light on his experience amid recent raids on the producer’s homes.

Usher Was Living With Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs as a Teenager

During the interview, Usher revealed that his move to New York City to live with Combs was suggested by L.A. Reid, the former CEO of Epic Records, as a means to immerse himself in the lifestyle of a musician. He emphasized the significance of this experience, highlighting that he was just 13 or 14 years old at the time. Furthermore, the interview offers a glimpse into the ’90s music scene.

Contrary to speculations of wild parties and non-stop orgies, Usher clarified that while the atmosphere was curious, it wasn’t as extravagant as perceived. He admitted to witnessing unusual occurrences but expressed uncertainty about fully comprehending the lifestyle at such a young age.

He claimed, “I got a chance to see some things … I don’t know if I could indulge and even understand what I was looking at.”

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Home Raid

The resurfaced video comes amid recent raids on Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami homes by Homeland Security officials. It all occurred as part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation. Federal agents raided the Star Island homes of rap mogul Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, on Monday.

The raids were part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York, HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners. Diddy owns properties at 1 Star Island, previously owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, and 2 Star Island according to Miami-Dade property records, both of which were raided by federal agents.

Homeland Security’s investigation into Sean Combs, or Diddy, follows a recent lawsuit accusing him of leading a criminal enterprise potentially linked to sex trafficking. The lawsuit, filed by producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, implicates Diddy, his staff, and music executives in illicit sexual activities across various states and territories. The Southern District of New York prosecutors are leading the investigation, with Jones serving as the primary witness.

Despite the speculation surrounding the raids, the specific details of the investigation remain unclear.

Usher’s Innocent Involvement

Usher’s recounting of his time at Combs’ residence provides insight into his formative years in the music industry. He highlights encounters with industry heavyweights like Biggie Smalls, Lil Kim, and Mary J. Blige. However, he maintains that his parents were unaware of the activities transpiring during his stay.

As Usher, now a father himself, reflects on his past experiences, he expresses reluctance to expose his own children to similar environments. He swiftly dismisses the idea of sending them to “Puffy Flavor Camp.”

While the recent developments surrounding Combs’ legal troubles cast a shadow over his legacy, Usher’s recollections offer a glimpse into the complex dynamics of the music industry and its influences on emerging artists.

Representatives for both Usher and Combs have yet to comment on the resurfaced video or the ongoing investigation, leaving many questions unanswered as the story continues to unfold.
