Nicolas Cage is known for his eccentric personality and unique perspective on life. And we can definitely see this in a recent interview of his. During the interview, he shared a truly bizarre and fascinating experience, a vivid womb memory of “seeing faces” inside. Cage’s recollection definitely makes us question our abilities as human beings. But, how is his womb memory even possible?

Nicolas Cage Remembers a Womb Memory

Nicolas Cage recently appeared on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, where he filled out a questionnaire. In his unique style, Cage shared that his earliest childhood memory is actually being in his mother’s womb. He told Colbert:

“Let me think. Listen, I know this sounds really far out and I don’t know if it’s real or not, but sometimes I think I can go all the way back to in-utero and feeling like I could see faces in the dark or something. I know that sounds powerfully abstract, but that somehow seems like maybe it happened.”

He went on to say:

“Now that I am no longer in utero, I would have to imagine it was perhaps vocal vibrations resonating through to me at that stage. That’s going way back. I don’t know. That comes to mind… I don’t even know if I remember being in utero, but that thought has crossed my mind.”

Nicolas Cage Even Had a Few Things to Say About the Afterlife

During his appearance on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, Nicolas Cage displayed his characteristic wit and humor when Colbert asked him about what happens when we die. He told the audience:

“Oh, wow. Nobody really knows, I don’t know. They say that electricity is forever eternal. That the spark keeps going. I like to think whatever spark is animating our bodies, once the body passes on, that the spark continues to go. But whether or not that electricity has consciousness or not, who can really say?”

Is It Possible to Have a Vivid Womb Memory?

Memory is a fundamental aspect of human existence, crucial for learning, recognition, and recalling past experiences. Alzheimer’s disease and studies on individuals with brain lesions highlight its importance. While it was previously believed that newborns lacked memory, recent research suggests otherwise. Newborns exhibit memory through various learning processes, indicating that memory likely begins prenatally and continues to develop after birth.

His Most Recent Endevaours

Nicolas Cage’s latest role as Dracula in Universal’s “Renfield” has seen disappointing box office results, earning just $16 million domestically and $22 million worldwide. This underperformance contrasts with Universal’s success in 2023 with hits like “M3GAN” and “Cocaine Bear.”

Nicolas Cage expressed his appreciation for the blend of horror and comedy in the Renfield-Dracula relationship in Universal’s “Renfield.” He compared it to the feeling he experienced watching “American Werewolf in London,” where laughter and screams intermingled, creating an engaging and unpredictable viewing experience.
