Attorney General Pam Bondi recently vowed to release the names of individuals who flew to Jeffrey Epstein’s private island, fueling anticipation and speculation about the Epstein files. While the document release has drawn significant attention, questions remain about whether it will reveal any new information.

The Justice Department Releases “New” Information

On Thursday evening, the Justice Department released a long-awaited batch of documents on Jeffrey Epstein, including his contact list, flight logs, and evidence collected against him. However, the 200-page release offered no major revelations, mostly naming public figures already known to have associated with him.

Attorney General Pam Bondi stated that a witness informed her the FBI’s New York Field Office has thousands of unreleased documents. She demanded the bureau hand them over so she could make them public.

Epstein Files and the Names in them

Epstein’s contact list, released by the Department of Justice on Thursday, included high-profile names like Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson, Alec Baldwin, Ethel Kennedy, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, supermodel Naomi Campbell, and Courtney Love.

The list also featured Bob Weinstein, David Koch, the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, Ralph Fiennes, Kerry Kennedy, Alan Dershowitz, John Kerry, Dustin Hoffman, Jon Huntsman, Ivana Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Liz Hurley. Notably, President Trump’s name was absent.

Epstein’s contact book from the ’90s resurfaced years later, containing 349 names, 221 of which weren’t in the 2015 release. New names included President Trump, billionaire John Catsimatidis, and Suzanne Ircha, Melania Trump’s best friend and co-owner of the New York Jets.

Others listed were billionaire investor Carl Icahn, Cristina Greeven (wife of Chris Cuomo), former Playboy CEO Christie Hefner, and ex-New Republic publisher Marty Peretz, a former political mentor to Al Gore.

What Are These Names?

The list isn’t a “client list” but rather a collection of contacts from Epstein’s extensive network. While the names were disclosed, addresses and contact details were redacted. Most, if not all, of the names had already surfaced in past lawsuits and document leaks.

The DOJ also released a redacted list of 254 masseuses, with names blacked out to protect the victims. Included in the binder were Epstein’s “Lolita Express” flight logs, which had previously been made public with redactions. One entire section was fully redacted, as it contained the names of Epstein’s victims.

The logs bore the signature of pilot David Rodgers, who has previously testified about his experiences flying Epstein. Epstein’s “little black book” had already been made public twice, listing 349 associates from the 1990s. One copy even went up for auction.

The “Phase One” Binder

A source who reviewed the “phase one” binder warned that Thursday’s release would likely disappoint those expecting bombshell revelations about high-profile figures tied to Epstein. While it’s unclear if more documents will be released, the binder’s name suggests additional “phases” could follow.

The “Phase One” binder was given to 15 conservative influencers before its public release.

“We’re all waiting for bombshells, we’re all waiting for juicy stuff, and that’s not what’s in this binder,” podcaster Liz Wheeler said in a livestream on X. “That’s exactly how the attorney general presented it to us.”

She added, “It’s fine to feel frustrated. You should feel frustrated.”

Reactions to the Reveal

Critics, including Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), who leads a House GOP task force on government transparency, quickly called for more information.

“Neither I nor the task force reviewed the Epstein documents before their release … A NY Post story just revealed the documents are simply Epstein’s phonebook,” Luna tweeted.

She added, “THIS IS NOT WHAT WE OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ASKED FOR and a complete disappointment. GET US THE INFORMATION WE ASKED FOR!”
