After years of fighting for what she believes is right, Gypsy Rose Blanchard is preparing for one of the most difficult conversations of her life.

She plans on telling her daughter, Aurora, about the murder of her mother. In a recent interview, Gypsy opened up about her emotional journey and the steps she’s taking to ensure the truth is shared with care.

What Happened to Gypsy Rose Blanchard?

Gypsy Rose Blanchard was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 for her role in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee. For years, Dee Dee had forced Gypsy to live as if she were terminally ill, making her use a wheelchair and take unnecessary medication.

In 2015, Gypsy and her online boyfriend, Nick Godejohn, carried out a plan that led to Dee Dee’s murder. Though Gypsy was originally sentenced to a decade behind bars, she was released in December 2023 after serving seven years.

Life After Prison

Before her release, Gypsy Rose Blanchard told People she was “ready for freedom” and eager to grow in all aspects of her life. Now, over a year since gaining her freedom, she has welcomed a baby girl with her partner, Ken Urker, in December 2023.

After her release, Gypsy Rose initially lived with her husband, Ryan Anderson, whom she married while in prison. However, she later reconnected with her ex-boyfriend, Ken Urker. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Aurora Raina Urker, on December 28, 2024.

Since becoming a mother, Gypsy Rose has grown more mature and reflective. She shared that having a child has made her reevaluate her priorities. She has shifted from a carefree, impulsive mindset to being more mindful of her decisions. This is all because they now affect her daughter.

Gypsy Rose Will Tell Daughter That She Killed Her Mother

Gypsy Rose Blanchard shared with LADbible Group that she plans to tell her daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, about her past at the right time. She acknowledged the challenge of explaining it to a child and emphasized the importance of having her family address it before she hears about it from others.

Gypsy Rose admitted that postpartum emotions made her deeply reflect on how to discuss her past with her daughter. She and her partner plan to seek guidance from a child therapist. They want to help navigate the conversation in an age-appropriate way.
