Who wouldn’t want to live next to or with one of the hottest and most successful actors of all time? While this is just a daydream for many of us, one person has actually managed to do it. Oscar-winning actor Brad Pitt allowed his 105-year-old neighbor to live rent-free on his former $39 million Los Angeles estate for years, according to Elvira star Cassandra Peterson. She sold her home to Pitt in 1994 and revealed in a recent interview with People that Pitt acquired adjacent properties, including one that belonged to a man in his early nineties, whose wife had passed away. So, what is it like living at Brad Pitt’s $39 million house?

Brad Pitt allowed his elderly neighbor, John, to live on his estate without paying rent until John passed away at the age of 105. Cassandra Peterson, Pitt’s former neighbor, jokingly suggested that Pitt might have thought John’s time left was limited. Peterson spoke highly of Pitt, describing him as kind and sweet. She fondly recalled an encounter where she was mesmerized by Pitt’s good looks and friendly demeanor while he was preparing for the film “Fight Club” in 1999.

Peterson added: “He was very, very kind to the husband. His wife passed away and the husband, John, lived there. I know that Brad allowed him to live there without paying anything until he died.” She later clarified: “It was kind of funny because John lived to be 105. I imagine Brad was thinking well, you know, he can live there till he dies, which might be any minute now.”

Peterson’s Interactions With Brad Pitt

Cassandra Peterson shared a memorable encounter with Brad Pitt, recalling how he greeted her with a friendly “Hey, how are you?” During the encounter, she was so taken aback by his stunning looks and kindness that she found herself speechless and blushing, feeling like she might faint. Peterson emphasized Pitt’s remarkable handsomeness and his pleasant personality.

What Happened to the House Now?

Brad Pitt recently sold his remodeled compound in Los Angeles for $39 million, after nearly three decades of ownership. Originally listed for $45 million in January, the property’s price dropped for unclear reasons. The sprawling estate is famously known for being the former residence of Pitt and his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, where they lived with their six children prior to their high-profile split in 2016. However, it was also a home where Pitt spent several years on his own.

Notably, Pitt’s decision to part ways with the Los Angeles property coincided with his move to a new $40 million residence in the picturesque beach city of Carmel, situated in Northern California. This transition was made just before Los Angeles implemented a “mansion tax” starting on April 1, which has reportedly triggered a trend among many A-list celebrities who are opting to leave the area.
