Felix Baumgartner, the Austrian daredevil who once broke the sound barrier during a historic space jump, has died following a paragliding accident in Porto Sant’Elpidio, Italy.
The 56-year-old lost control mid-flight and crashed into a hotel swimming pool. Tragically, the fall proved fatal. A hotel employee was also injured by falling debris, though reports say her injuries are not life-threatening.
