Persia Lawson’s past reads like a wild rom-com — except with more STD tests, heartbreak, and real-life consequences. The 39-year-old British woman openly admits that she slept with more than 100 people at one point, called herself a “serial cheater,” and revealed that she once gave chlamydia to ‘half of London’ during her chaotic years.

A Childhood Lived on Fast Forward

Lawson’s story begins early. She says she was interested in men as a child and started cheating on her boyfriends from around age 12 — even juggling up to four at once. Her upbringing wasn’t easy: she grappled with trauma, abandonment, and emotional instability, which she later says drove her toward risky relationships and self-sabotaging behavior.

Chaos, Addiction, and the Toll It Took

By her early 20s, Lawson was working in a strip club, surrounded by toxic relationships and “awful” men. She describes her life back then as a “blur” — the nightclub drama, the hookups, and, eventually, the STIs. She revealed on TikTok that she “gave the clap to half of London at 23,” a shocking admission that sparked widespread attention.

When doctors diagnosed her with chlamydia, they urged her to tell her past partners — but she couldn’t. She “couldn’t remember” many of them; some she claims “didn’t even know” she had slept with them. The memory lapse was not just the result of partying — Lawson now says it was symptomatic of a deeper problem: sex addiction.

Hitting Rock Bottom and Finding Help

It wasn’t until her mid-20s that things began to change. An intervention from her parents made her confront the crack in her life: they sent her to a wellness retreat in Thailand, where there were no distractions — just healing and reflection.

There, Lawson entered Love and Sex Addicts Anonymous, a support group that helped her map out the root causes of her destructive behavior. She also faced difficult truths about trauma, self-worth, and the chaotic relationships she had built.

Rebuilding and Using Her Experience for Good

Today, Lawson isn’t just surviving — she’s thriving. She married her husband, Joe, after meeting him at a music festival in 2015, and now uses her story to help others.

As a relationship coach and author, she encourages open conversations about sex addiction and encourages women to address their emotional pain, not just the symptoms. She runs retreats, writes books, and candidly discusses her past — without shame.

Why Her Story Resonates

  • Sex addiction is real: Lawson’s life underscores that this isn’t about “being promiscuous,” but often about deeper emotional wounds.
  • Recovery is possible: She transformed her life through therapy, community, and accountability.
  • Stigma kills: By openly discussing her past, she’s helping normalize hard conversations about STIs, addiction, and trauma.
