Anya Taylor-Joy Fulfilled Her Oscars Dream

Anya Taylor-Joy, the 27-year-old Furiosa star, fulfilled a childhood dream at the 2024 Oscars ceremony by presenting alongside her co-star Chris Hemsworth. She brought her father, Dennis Alan Taylor, as her date, calling it a “dreamy moment” in an Instagram post where she shared photos of them getting ready for the event.

Anya Taylor-Joy, who was raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and London, fulfilled a promise to her father by taking him as her date to the Oscars. She wrote part of her Instagram post in Spanish. The actress expressed gratitude and shared a photo of her in a silver beaded Dior Haute Couture gown. She went on to call it a “reimagining of the 1949 Venus Dress” by designer Maria Grazia Chiuri. The caption read: “At 12 I promised my dad that if I was ever invited to the Oscars, I would take him.. 🥹”. She added that she was “llena de gratitud” which means “filled with gratitude.”

On Oscar Sunday, Anya Taylor-Joy hinted at her upcoming Mad Max prequel during an interview with Cox on the red carpet. She mentioned the chaos inherent in the Mad Max franchise. She also talked about how she inherited the role of Imperator Furiosa in the upcoming installment.

When asked by Extra’s Billy Bush if he was proud of Anya Taylor-Joy, her father responded affirmatively. He praised her hard work, talent, and perseverance in her career. Taylor-Joy acknowledged having a lot happening in her life. This includes her role in the newly released “Dune: Part Two”. However, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share the Oscars night with her father. She even called it the “cherry on top of the cake.”
