Aussie Woman Steals Krispy Kreme Truck, Doughnut Dreams Turn Sour

In November 2023, a 28-year-old woman in Sydney, Australia, became an internet sensation (and police target) after allegedly stealing a delivery van overflowing with 10,000 Krispy Kreme doughnuts. CCTV footage captured her lingering at a gas station before hopping into the unattended vehicle and driving away.

Whether she specifically targeted the doughnuts or just saw an opportunity is unclear, but her delicious haul included both classic and Christmas-themed varieties.

Sadly, the woman’s sugary joyride was short-lived. Police recovered the abandoned van (and the now-spoiled doughnuts) a week later.

The Australian woman who stole Krispy Kreme’s truck faced charges including vehicle theft and driving while disqualified. Krispy Kreme, ever the customer champion, reassured fans they were working to replace the stolen treats.

Not Just Down Under Bears Raid Krispy Kreme Truck in Alaska

It seems a love for Krispy Kreme transcends borders – and even species! In September 2023, a security camera captured a different kind of doughnut heist over 7,000 miles away in Alaska. Two curious bears on a military base decided to raid a Krispy Kreme delivery van parked outside a convenience store.

While the bears likely enjoyed their unexpected snack, the incident certainly caused a stir and served as a reminder that sometimes, temptation comes in all shapes and sizes (with fur!).

Doughnuts and Other Unusual Arrests

These stories of the Australian woman stealing the Krispy Kreme truck aren’t the only strange arrests that make headlines. From people stealing exotic animals to those trying to sneak onto airplanes in outrageous disguises, there are always stories like this of bizarre situations that get people arrested.

The key takeaway? Sometimes, a little common sense and resisting the urge to grab the nearest delicious treat (or exotic animal) can go a long way in avoiding a run-in with the law.
