On January 31, 2025, Andrew was rear-ended by a driver, 37-year-old Ragnar Nickolas Kristl, while waiting at a stoplight in Grand Junction, Colorado.
The crash caused serious injuries to both men. Andrew suffered a traumatic brain injury and remained in a coma for the following month. Despite efforts to save him, Andrew passed away on March 4, 2025.

Tributes and Final Moments
Andrew’s sister shared touching details about his final moments. Before removing him from life support, the hospital staff honored him in a special way. “They put him on a mobile ventilator and walked a loop around the ICU, while all the available staff lined the hallway,” she wrote. In his room, friends and family gathered to read scripture, pray, and sing during the process of removing life support. Jenna described the moment as peaceful and full of love.

After Andrew’s passing, the charges against Kristl were upgraded to include vehicular homicide. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 12, 2025.
