Bugs Bar Nightclub Shooting Leaves Two Dead and Several Injured in Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A drive-by shooting outside Bugs Bar Nightclub in southeast Houston on Sunday night left two people dead and several others injured. The Houston Police Department (HPD) is now investigating the incident.
What Happened at the Bugs Bar Nightclub Shooting?
At 11:47 PM on July 13, 2025, officers arrived at Bugs Bar Nightclub in response to reports of gunfire. They found one person dead at the scene, while another later died at the hospital. Additionally, seven others suffered injuries.
Assistant Chief Adrian Rodriguez of HPD confirmed that some victims sought medical help on their own, while others received treatment at the scene. “Two people died, and seven others were injured,” Rodriguez said. Consequently, the investigation into the Bugs Bar Nightclub shooting is underway.
Suspect and Vehicle Details
Witnesses described a grey or silver four-door sedan speeding past the crowd before gunshots rang out. However, authorities have not yet identified the shooter. As a result, they are still piecing together the events leading up to the shooting. Rodriguez emphasized, “We don’t know what sparked this violence.” Therefore, HPD urges anyone with information to come forward.
Previous Violence at Bugs Bar Nightclub
This tragic incident isn’t the first time Bugs Bar Nightclub has witnessed violence. In March 2025, a 21-year-old man died after a confrontation with a group inside the club. Authorities reported that a silver sedan fled the scene afterward. Given this history, residents have raised security concerns and are now calling for better safety measures.
