Cher Says She Prefers Dating Younger Men. But Why?

She explained on The Jennifer Hudson Show that she prefers younger men because most men her age or older are no longer alive.

Additionally, she mentioned being busy for men when she is not working. She shared an anecdote about Elvis Presley approaching her in the past, but she turned him down due to nerves and concerns about his reputation, rather than any age difference. Cher and Edwards have been together since 2022.

Cher shared with Jennifer Hudson on her talk show that she prefers dating younger men because she is shy around men in general. She explained that men her age are often too intimidated to approach her, while younger men, who were raised by women like her, tend to be bolder. This preference stems from her observation that men her age are older, and many of them have passed away.

Cher admitted that her rekindled romance with Edwards was unexpected. During an episode of “Chicken Soup Date” in December 2023, she shared that she had advised her friends against falling in love with younger men or through text, but her own experience contradicted that advice.

Her Dating Younger Men Also Added Fuel to the Fire

Cher has repeatedly defended her relationship with a significant age gap. In response to criticism on Twitter, she bluntly stated that she doesn’t care what others think, emphasizing her indifference to outside opinions. The tweet read: “haven’t You Got Anything Else 2 Do?! Let Me Explain…I DONT GIVE A FK WHAT ANYONE THINKS.”

Cher, known for her past marriages to Sonny Bono and Gregg Allman, has a history of dating prominent figures including David Geffen and Gene Simmons. She’s also been romantically involved with Tom Cruise, Richie Sambora, and Val Kilmer. Notably, she had a serious relationship with Rob Camiletti, whom she met when she was 40 and he was 22.
