A federal jury found Diddy not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking on July 2. The verdict came after seven weeks of testimony. At first, the jury was deadlocked on one charge. But later, they voted to acquit him.

Sean Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said inmates at MDC Brooklyn applauded him when he returned.
“They said, ‘We never see anyone beat the government,’” Agnifilo told the Associated Press.

Diddy was convicted on two lesser charges, transporting someone for prostitution. Each charge carries up to 10 years in prison. He could face a total of 20 years.

Despite the partial win, the judge denied Sean Diddy’s request for bail. Judge Arun Subramanian cited his violent behavior, including an assault on ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura at a hotel.

Diddy will stay in jail until his sentencing, expected on October 3. Prosecutors are asking for a 4-to-5-year sentence.

Before his arrest in September 2024, Diddy had started a program for domestic abusers. His lawyer says he plans to continue it.

“He’s doing OK,” Agnifilo said. “He knows he has flaws. He’s starting to face them.”
