At around 9:40 p.m. on July 21, tensions rose near Cinderella Castle at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom when a tourist and a 17-year-old girl clashed over parade viewing space.

According to police, Martha Lucia Zapata‑Echeverri, 51, grabbed the teen on her arm – despite being asked not to touch her – leaving visible bruise and nail mark injuries.

Deputies responded to a call reporting an altercation between the teen and Zapata‑Echeverri, a visitor from Spain traveling on a tourist visa. Zapata‑Echeverri claims she was merely following her daughter to the front of the crowd and insists the teen had pushed her first and claimed the spot. Orange County deputies charged Zapata‑Echeverri with one count of child abuse. A judge granted her bond at $2,500 and issued a court order barring her from any Disney property.
