Turns out when Drake said “I could dance like Michael Jackson“, he definitely meant this scenario! In addition to many records that Drake has broken (and continues to hold), he is now ready to add another one to his list. He has recently achieved the same number of No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as Michael Jackson, tying for the fourth-most No. 1 singles in history.
Drake Ties Michael Jackson For 4th Most No. 1 Singles in History
Drake achieved a remarkable chart milestone, securing the No. 1 position on both the Billboard 200 Albums chart and the Hot 100 Songs ranking. His latest album, “For All The Dogs,” debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with over 400,000 equivalent units sold. Additionally, one of the album’s tracks, “First Person Shooter,” also debuts at No. 1 on the Hot 100 Songs chart. This achievement ties Drake with one of the greatest music artists, Michael Jackson, for the fourth-most No. 1 singles on the prestigious Hot 100 chart in the United States.
First Person Shooter
Drake’s latest single, “First Person Shooter,” has propelled him to a remarkable chart milestone, securing his thirteenth No. 1 on the Hot 100. This achievement is significant as it places him in the esteemed company of the legendary Michael Jackson, tying them for the fourth-most chart-toppers in the history of the Hot 100. Until this week, Drake was in a tie with other celebrated artists, most notably Madonna and The Supremes, who have each notched 12 No. 1 hits. The tie was recently broken when “Slime You Out,” a collaboration with SZA featured on his album “For All The Dogs,” debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 less than a month ago.
This milestone ties him with Michael Jackson for the most No. 1 hits on the Hot 100 among solo male artists, as he alluded to in his album “For All The Dogs.” Ironically, this is the same song in which Drake claims to be “one away from Michael”.
What About J-Cole?
Moreover, “First Person Shooter” also marks a first for another prominent artist, J. Cole. Despite coming close to reaching the top spot on the Hot 100 in the past, this is J. Cole’s inaugural No. 1 single. His near misses have made this latest achievement all the more significant, and it underscores the remarkable success and influence that both Drake and J. Cole continue to wield in the music industry. This latest milestone is a testament to their enduring chart-topping prowess.
Who Has the Record for the Other Spots?
Drake has tied Michael Jackson for the fourth-most Billboard No. 1 hits in history, with 13 chart-toppers. However, he still has some way to go to reach the very top. Rihanna currently holds third place with 14 No. 1 hits, and she may increase that number when she releases her highly-anticipated ninth album. The artists with the most Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 songs are Mariah Carey, with 19, and The Beatles, with 20.
Drake’s Current No. 1 Hits
Drake’s No. 1 hits include collaborations with Rihanna on songs like “What’s My Name” and “Work,” as well as solo hits like “God’s Plan,” “In My Feelings,” and “Toosie Slide.” His recent success with “First Person Shooter” and “Slime You Out,” a collaboration with SZA from his album “For All The Dogs,” has solidified his position among the chart-topping elite.
