This journey is definitely not for the weak-hearted! The UAE is known for its ambitious inventions, and its latest project includes creating a high-speed train that will run underwater, offering passengers a unique view of marine life during the journey to India. However, the underwater train to India is said to not be an easy traveling journey. The suggested underwater high-speed train will cover a 1,200-mile distance, serving both as public transportation and a means of transporting water and oil. It is expected to achieve an impressive speed ranging from 600 to 1000 kilometers per hour. Here’s what else you can expect.

The Underwater Train to India Plan

The Dubai to Mumbai underwater train project, initially proposed as a concept in 2018, is now progressing towards making it possible. The UAE’s National Advisor Bureau is creating plans for the railway and the required underwater train to India to connect the two cities, aiming to bring innovation to the region. However, the project is expected to come with a substantial cost.

The UAE is known for its technological and infrastructural achievements in the Middle East. This also includes the massive bio project currently capturing global attention. However, Saudi Arabia’s ambitious plan for a horizontal tower city connecting the desert to the sea, designed to be a biophilic oasis in an unconventional climate, comes with a staggering 1 trillion-dollar investment. To outshine these projects, the UAE needs to realize the proposed underwater train to India swiftly. Especially since construction on the bio city is already in progress and set for completion by the end of 2030.

Not the First But Possibly the Best

The Channel Tunnel, which started operating in 1994, is a remarkable engineering achievement. It is a rail tunnel that connects the United Kingdom (UK) to France, running beneath the English Channel. Also known as the Eurotunnel or Chunnel, it consists of three tunnels in total: two for rail traffic and a smaller service tunnel. The tunnel is around 35 miles (56 kilometers) long, with about 23.5 miles (37.9 kilometers) located beneath the seabed of the English Channel.

The Channel Tunnel serves as a crucial transportation link between the UK and mainland Europe. Its main job is to facilitate the movement of both passengers and freight. High-speed Eurostar trains, as well as freight and car-carrying shuttles, use the tunnel for transportation. It has had a significant impact on trade, tourism, and travel between the UK and continental Europe. This makes it a symbol of international cooperation and engineering excellence.

While not the first underwater tunnel, the proposed underwater train to India from Dubai project would surpass the Channel Tunnel. This includes surpassing it in terms of both size and speed, making it a more impressive engineering feat. However, with great ideas comes great responsibilities. And while Dubai is known for its outstanding projects, this underwater train to India idea might take some time to become available.
