Whether you are a fan or just a bypasser, there is definitely no way you have not heard of a celebrity feud here or there. While they have affected the ones who partook in the specific fights, as fans and viewers, celebrity feuds have made it to the list of the most iconic pop culture moments. Who is entering the most brutal boxing match according to our favorite celebrity feuds? Let’s have a look at our list together!
The Most Iconic Celebrity Feuds
Here are some of the most iconic celebrity feuds that are still talked about to this day:
Kanye West and Taylor Swift
First in the boxing ring is definitely Kanye and Taylor’s long-lasting feud. The iconic feud in the entertainment industry of our era ignited during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. We’re all familiar with the incident: as Taylor Swift was receiving her Best Female Video award, Kanye West stormed the stage, took the microphone, and asserted, quite justifiably, that Beyoncé had been unfairly treated. Chaos ensued.
Since then, this feud has had its share of ups and downs. There was a temporary truce in the mid-2010s, but the release of Kanye’s song “Famous,” which contained offensive lyrics aimed at Swift, reopened old wounds. Swift was deeply angered by Kanye’s use of derogatory language, while Kanye insisted that she had given her approval during a phone conversation. His wife, Kim Kardashian, supported his claim.
Drake and Pusha T
The feud between Drake and Pusha T began in the early 2010s but escalated in 2018 with diss tracks. Drake’s 2016 song “Two Birds, One Stone” questioned Pusha T’s credibility, leading to Pusha’s response in “Infrared” about Drake’s ghostwriters. This sparked a back-and-forth of insults.
In May 2018, Pusha T released “The Story of Adidon,” targeting Drake’s family and personal life. Drake explained a controversial photo, saying it was from an acting project. They seemed to cool things down by the end of 2018, but Drake indirectly referenced Pusha T in his June 2019 single “Omertà.”
In 2020, Pusha T reignited the feud on a track, implicating Drake in a past attack. Young Thug, featured on the same track, expressed regret. Pusha T defended his choice to include Thugger and asserted his place in the rap game.
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie
Paris Hilton, an early 2000s icon, was an influencer before the term existed, setting the trend for party-loving, platinum-haired celebrities famous for being famous. Her presence was a must at any party during her prime.
Nicole Richie accompanied Paris throughout her heyday, co-starring in the groundbreaking reality show The Simple Life and making frequent appearances at parties and events together. However, their once-unbreakable bond started to deteriorate in 2005, and they ceased being friends. Richie suggests they simply grew apart, while rumors circulated that she may have shown Paris’s sex tape at a party, exacerbating the divide.
Today, the worst of their feud is in the past, but their friendship has never returned to its early 2000s glory.
Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks
Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks, two iconic supermodels renowned for their beauty, have had a longstanding feud since the early ’90s. At the time, Naomi was a top-tier supermodel, breaking barriers for black models, while Tyra was a newcomer drawing comparisons to Naomi due to her exceptional beauty and ethnicity.
This feud sheds light on issues of racial stereotyping and the limited opportunities for racialized individuals in the global fashion industry. While both Naomi and Tyra have faced accusations and have contributed to the conflict, the media’s role in sensationalizing the feud has made it challenging for these fashion icons to coexist. Ultimately, the feud reflects deeper systemic problems in the fashion world rather than just personal animosity between the two models.
