On July 25, influencer Ryan “Rylen” Green, known on Instagram and TikTok for travel and lifestyle content, struck a group of pedestrians in a crosswalk near a shopping plaza in Orlando. Four victims were hit, ranging in age from 40 to 65.

Tragically, a 45-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Three others sustained injuries—broken bones and internal trauma—and remain under medical care.

Alleged Flight from the Scene

After the collision, authorities say Green fled in his BMW, driving several blocks away before abandoning the vehicle.

Orlando Police later arrested him at a nearby residence early the following morning. Investigators report he smelled of alcohol, though charges for drunk driving have not yet been filed.

Charges: Felony Hit‑and‑Run and More

Green faces four counts of hit-and-run causing serious bodily injury, and one count of hit-and-run resulting in death, both felony offenses.

Additional charges could follow if prosecutors pursue DUI allegations. Bail has been set at $25,000, which he posted, but he remains under house arrest and subject to court-imposed restrictions.

From Follower Count to Court Court

Green gained fame with his series of jet‑set vacation vlogs and brand collaborations. With over one million followers across platforms, he had positioned himself as a symbol of a luxury lifestyle—and now his content is under harsher scrutiny.

A spokesperson from one of his sponsoring brands announced they were cutting ties with him pending further investigation. Former fans and social media users reacted with shock; many expressed sadness that someone who promoted good vibes online could allegedly cause so much pain offline.

Victims’ Families Seek Justice

The family of the woman who died described her as kind, beloved, and community-centered. Her grieving husband issued a statement calling for accountability, saying that no amount of online fame should shield him from the law. At a candlelight vigil, dozens of residents expressed continued outrage and sorrow on behalf of those injured.

Green’s next court hearing is scheduled for August 15, where attorneys will argue motions around the evidence. Forensic examiners review vehicle data and surveillance footage to chart the vehicle’s path. Prosecutors also spoke with witnesses who said Green had acted erratically right before the crash.

If convicted of all charges, Green could face decades in prison. Legal experts note that hit-and-run fatalities in Florida carry especially harsh penalties, regardless of motive.

Why This Case Hits Hard

This case exposes the dangerous gap between online persona and real-life responsibility. A man blessed with followers and brand deals is now standing accused of causing irreversible harm to strangers on the street. In moments, lives changed forever—both for victims and the influencer who refuses to go unseen.
