Taylor Swift’s Vienna concert is canceled!

The world of music and entertainment was recently rocked by a chilling revelation – an ISIS plot against Taylor Swift’s concerts in Austria was uncovered just in time. The mere thought of such a nefarious scheme sends shivers down the spine.

But what is Taylor Swift’s connection to the ISIS plot?

Authorities Uncover Terrorist Materials in Plotted ISIS Attack

Authorities discovered Islamic State and al-Qaeda materials at the home of the second suspect in the thwarted plot against Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour shows in Austria. The show was recently canceled. No additional suspects are being pursued. Interior Minister Gerhard Karner stated that a tragedy was prevented while the situation was serious.

A 17-year-old Austrian with Turkish and Croatian roots was arrested by special police near the concert venue. Additionally, a 19-year-old Austrian was also taken into custody.

Police discovered videos and screenshots of home laboratories on the suspects’ cellphones, which are commonly shared by ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

Prime Suspect in Taylor Swift’s Vienna Tour ISIS Plot

The prime suspect in a plot to attack Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” in Vienna admitted he planned to use knives and explosives to kill himself and others. The 19-year-old Austrian, of North Macedonian descent, had downloaded bomb-making manuals, according to Austrian security officials.

Authorities found hydrogen peroxide, homemade explosives, detonators, and detonator cables at the suspect’s apartment, with some explosives already assembled.

A third suspect, a 15-year-old Austrian with Turkish roots, is being questioned by authorities. No additional suspects are being sought.

What Did Authorities Have to Say?

Franz Ruf, Austria’s public security director, stated that the prime suspect fully confessed and no additional suspects are being pursued. The U.S. intelligence community first alerted Austrian authorities about the potential terror attack, providing guidance on what to look for.

Following news of the plot, Barracuda Music, the event organizer, stated it had to cancel the shows for safety reasons.

The Austrian Chancellor Chimes In

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer expressed disappointment over the cancellation of Taylor Swift’s concerts, acknowledging the situation as very serious due to the planned terror attack.

Chancellor Nehammer noted that due to close collaboration between police and both Austrian and foreign intelligence, the threat was identified early, addressed, and a tragedy was averted.

Not the First Time an ISIS Threat Happened to Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has previously expressed concerns about a terrorist attack at her stadium shows, citing the Manchester Arena bombing and the Las Vegas shooting as major fears.

She mentioned this anxiety in a 2019 Elle interview, expressing fear about keeping fans safe during her “Lover Tour,” which was later canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
