Jessie Cave Barred from Harry Potter Convention Over OnlyFans

Jessie Cave, the actress known for playing Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films, says she was recently denied a booking at a Harry Potter fan convention because she runs an OnlyFans account. Organisers reportedly rejected her on the basis that the convention is a “family show” and that OnlyFans is affiliated with adult content — even though Cave claims her account focuses on non-sexual, hair-related content.
Cave discussed the matter in a Substack post, saying she was told she was no longer a fit for the event because of the association, despite previously being booked numerous times. She expressed confusion and frustration, especially given that many convention actors have worked in shows or films involving nudity or sex scenes, whereas her content is focused on hair fetish and aesthetic or sensual hair sounds, not explicit acts.
Why Cave Did OnlyFans & What It Is
In March 2025, Jessie Cave launched her OnlyFans page with the stated aim of creating “niche hair content.” She describes it as sensual and aesthetic, with no nudity, no explicit sexual content, and with the intention of minimal risk, focusing on things like hair brushing, styling, and similar sensory content. She said the decision was partially driven by financial pressures, including debt, home repairs, and wanting to support her creative / writing work.
Cave also emphasized that the content is not pornographic, and that though her work is sensual in tone, it is intended for a niche audience with an interest in hair—and that “fetish doesn’t necessarily mean sexual.”
The Fallout & Her Response
Cave said she was largely unbothered by being excluded, saying she’s had 15 years doing these fan conventions and collected enough memories and memorabilia. She seems to view the decision as a turning point rather than an insult.

She made it clear she is ready to transition away from conventions if necessary, expressing openness to exploring other roles and creative work outside what she’s done before.
Broader Issues Raised
- Stigma Around OnlyFans
Even when creators use the platform for non-explicit content, there remains a stigma tied to its reputation. Many events or organisations appear to assume that any OnlyFans content is sexual and therefore inappropriate for “family-friendly” settings. Cave’s case highlights how that stigma operates regardless of actual content. - Inconsistency in Expectations
Cave points out that many other actors who attend such conventions have credits involving nudity or sex-related scenes, which are more traditionally “adult” than what she’s doing with her content. Yet those actors are often still welcome. This raises questions about what conventions consider acceptable, and what lines are privately drawn. - Creative Freedom vs Brand/Image Control
The controversy touches on how much control event organisers have over who represents their “brand” or image, especially franchises with large family audiences. It also links to how performers balance financial, personal, and creative needs with public perception and casting in fan spaces.
