Being a young soul does not mean you do not understand adult consequences. That was definitely the case for Kevin Hart. The actor and comedian has recently shared a new Instagram post and it is definitely not for the laughing matter.
While children and teens have more energy and their body functions differently, Kevin Hart had a different message for a lesson he learned the hard way.
What Happened to Kevin Hart?
Kevin Hart, the renowned comedian and movie star, recently found himself in an unexpected predicament – confined to a wheelchair temporarily, all because he decided to engage in what he described as “young stuff.” The amusing incident was shared on his verified Instagram account, where the caption of the video began with the rather self-deprecating statement:
“I got to be the dumbest man alive!!!!!“
The Video of the Incident
In the video, Kevin Hart recounted the tale of how he got into this situation. It all started when he made a bet with his friend, former NFL player Stevan Ridley, claiming he could beat him in a 40-yard dash. As one might anticipate, things did not go well for the comedian.
Hart, who is 44 years old, humorously reflected on the reality of reaching the age of 40 and beyond. He offered a word of caution to others in his age group, emphasizing the need to respect the limitations that come with it. “Ladies and gentlemen, the age 40 is real,” he remarked. “All my men, women out there 40 years old and above, it’s not a game. Respect that age.”
As for the outcome of the ill-fated race, Hart suffered injuries to his lower abdomen and abductors, which he admitted not fully understanding but had certainly torn. The injuries left him unable to walk, hence the wheelchair.
Notably, Kevin Hart received plenty of feedback from the celebrity community, with stars like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Will Smith commenting on the video, offering their support and likely a few laughs at his expense.
To be fair, even if Kevin Hart had emerged unscathed from the race, challenging a former NFL running back like Stevan Ridley to a foot race was definitely a bad choice. Ridley had an impressive career in the NFL. Particularly with the New England Patriots, where he rushed for 1,263 yards and scored 12 touchdowns in a single season.
This was clearly not the type of person one should challenge in a sprint, especially if you’re a 44-year-old comedian. It’s safe to say that Hart has learned his lesson and is unlikely to repeat this mistake anytime soon.
