He is best known for his full-body tattoo of green scales. Combined with sharpened teeth, a bifurcated tongue, and subdermal implants, with these, Sprague has achieved a true otherworldly appearance.

He Isn’t Just the “Lizard Man”

But his talents go far from just his physical modifications. As a skilled performer, he has mastered a variety of sideshow acts, including fire breathing and sword swallowing.

He has shared the spotlight with legendary bands like Disturbed, Slayer, and Slipknot on the Jägermeister Music Tour, and even toured with the infamous Jim Rose Circus.

In his performances, Sprague sings about his body modifications a lot. He has written extensively on the subject and frequently participates in flesh hook suspension events. His impact is so significant that life-size statues of him have been immortalized at Ripley’s Believe It or Not!

Who Was the Lizardman Before?

Before Sprague’s career has taken him from the academic world – he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy – to the global stage.

And now his unique persona has also landed him a spot in the Guinness World Record for the heaviest weight lifted and spun with pierced ears.

His Life is Less Ordinary

Even though he looks very different, Sprague has a normal life. He is married to his wife Megan and has kids, demonstrating that you can have an unusual appearance and still build a family. His story proves that people can live different kinds of lives.
