We all spend an unholy amount on our phones on a daily basis. But, how much do you really love your phone? No matter what your answer might be, chances are that you don’t love it as much as this man does. Or does he? That is what we are here to discover! This is the story of how a man married his phone. And while this might sound as weird as some might think, it is not actually because he is in love with his phone. Here is why Aaron Chervenak decided to go through with the wedding.

Man Marries Phone, But Why?

In an unusual move that showcases the deep connection individuals have with their smartphones, a Los Angeles resident, Aaron Chervenak, made headlines by marrying his iPhone in a Las Vegas chapel. The ceremony, filmed and shared on YouTube by Kaspersky Lab, served as a statement about the profound role these devices play in our lives. Chervenak, in the video, passionately likened the significance of smartphones to real human relationships, emphasizing the symbiotic nature and integral part they play in modern existence.

Aaron mentioned: “If we’re going to be honest with ourselves, we connect with our phones on so many emotional levels. We look to it for solace, to calm us down, to put us to sleep, to ease our minds. To me, that’s what a relationship is about so in a sense, my smartphone has been my longest relationship. That’s why I decided to see what it was like to actually marry a phone.

Skepticism About Man Marrying a Phone

Chervenak, despite skepticism about his actions, remained determined. He found a venue, the Little Las Vegas Chapel, willing to host his wedding with his phone. Dressed in a tuxedo and arriving in a pink Cadillac, he ceremoniously united with his smartphone, which was elegantly presented in a white case.

The unconventional ceremony concluded with Chervenak symbolically exchanging vows by placing his phone, representing the ring, onto his finger, solidifying the union between him and his smartphone as they were pronounced “husband and smartphone.”

Is This a Real Wedding?

The marriage wasn’t legally binding, as it was more of a symbolic gesture by the LA-based director, Aaron Chervenak, to emphasize the increasing significance of smartphones in our lives. He aimed to provoke thoughts about the nature of this relationship and its significance, intending to push the boundaries of exploration.

Chervenak then added: “We look to it for solace, to calm us down, to put us to sleep, to ease our minds, and to me, that’s also what a relationship is about. So, in a sense, my smartphone has been my longest relationship.”

The unconventional marriage between Aaron Chervenak and his smartphone really teaches us one lesson or two. It serves as a social commentary on the intensifying relationship between individuals and their devices. While not legally binding, it symbolizes the increasing significance of technology in our lives. Chervenak’s act provokes contemplation on the evolving nature of our connections with technology, encouraging discussions about the boundaries and implications of these relationships in the modern age. Do you agree with Aaron Chervenak that we do actually use our phones way too much?
