A storage-unit flipper known as Wades Ventures went viral after posting a TikTok video showing what he found inside a recently purchased abandoned locker. The clip, viewed over 11 million times, begins with a dramatic reveal of stacked boxes—then dives into a retro gaming treasure trove.

Collectible Cache Worth Thousands

Opening just a few boxes—about 5% of what was inside—Wade discovered Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering cards from the late 1990s and early 2000s. Common Pokémon cards typically sell for $1–$20, but rare graded cards can be worth anywhere from $1,000 to $20,000 each. Vintage MTG rares, while not as pricey, still fetch around $50 apiece.

He also found several gaming consoles: a Wii U (about $100 used), a Wii ($20–35), a Dreamcast ($60), and an original Nintendo DS ($30). Notably, a limited-edition Xbox One Jedi Edition could sell for around $250. Additional items included arcade-style TV joysticks ($40–100), a replica Fallout Pip-Boy ($150), PS3 and GameCube games, LEGO sets, Sonic and PC games, and more.

Projected Payoff and Speculation

So far, Wade estimates the content he’s cataloged could net $850–$1,000. However, a single graded Pokémon rare could boost the haul into the low-to-mid five-figure range. Viewers on TikTok chimed in:

“Investment 2000$. Investment return 60000$.”
“Made their money back just on the Pokémon cards.”

But others voiced concern, wondering about the original owner and their lost memories:

“That’s a whole 30-year collection and it’s gone.”
“Sad to see someone’s entire life collections sold for pennies.”

Why Do Storage Auctions Happen?

Abandoned storage units often go up for auction when renters fall months behind on payments. The facility sells off its contents to recoup losses. Buyers like Wade—and others featured in popular shows like Storage Wars—hope to uncover hidden gems. Most leave with everyday items, but occasionally stumble upon real treasure.

A Rollercoaster Ride of Emotions

The video mixes excitement and caution. On one hand, the thrill of finding valuable vintage items is undeniable. On the other, viewers are reminded that every find may mark someone’s loss. It’s a balance between flipping forgotten items and respecting stories left behind.

Wade has yet to dig through all the boxes—about 95% remain unopened. More rare collectibles could be hidden deep inside. With such potential value, the final tally could far exceed early estimates. Whether this turns into a fortune or a satisfying flip, it’s already captured the imagination of millions online.
