In The Wolf of Wall Street, Naomi and Jordan first meet at a party at Jordan Belfort’s house. During a dinner together, Jordan suggests they could be friends. However, this makes Naomi nervous since he is married and she has a boyfriend. Naomi then makes it clear they won’t be friends.

Later, at her apartment, Naomi invites Jordan in for tea. But, the next scene takes a different turn and doesn’t involve any tea.

In The Wolf of Wall Street, Naomi asks Jordan to start a fire while she freshens up. As Jordan considers leaving, Naomi emerges wearing only stockings and heels, a detail Margot Robbie insisted on for the scene.

‘Her Character’s Nudity Was Crucial’

In an interview with The Telegraph after the movie’s release, Margot Robbie explained her choice to do the scene in The Wolf of Wall Street in stockings and heels.

She emphasized that nudity should have a purpose and not just be gratuitous. Robbie stated that if nudity is included merely for its own sake, without serving the story, it is “disgusting” and noticeable.

Margot Robbie explained that she finds it irritating when films depict characters who would realistically be naked but instead have awkward cover-ups like bras or bed sheets. For her role as Naomi in The Wolf of Wall Street, she believed that her character’s nudity was crucial because her body represents her only form of currency.

She insisted on being fully naked in the scene where Naomi seduces Jordan, rejecting director Martin Scorsese’s suggestion of a robe, as it was essential for the character’s portrayal.

Initial Doubts

Margot Robbie was initially apprehensive about the nude scene in The Wolf of Wall Street due to concerns about its permanence online.

However, she decided to proceed with the scene in a way that she felt was most authentic to her character. Later, Robbie revealed that such racy scenes were filmed in a small bedroom with a crowded crew of 30 people, contrasting sharply with how they appeared on screen.

Margot Robbie described the experience of filming the nude scene as “very weird,” spending 17 hours in a small room with many men.

She explained that to handle the situation, she had to deeply suppress any embarrassment or absurdity and fully commit to the role.
