Tori Milsak, a 35‑year‑old Arkansas woman, vanished from Hot Springs on June 6, 2024, triggering a year‑long search and growing family anguish.

On June 19, she walked into a Little Rock gas station, calmly told staff she was the missing woman, and asked them to call the police. Local authorities described her demeanor as “calm” during the reunion with law enforcement.

The Woman Was Arrested on an Outstanding Warrant

Moments after being recognized, Milsak was arrested on a warrant from Garland County related to prior alleged crimes—breaking and entering and first-degree criminal mischief—filed before her disappearance. She was booked on June 20 and is scheduled to appear in court on July 22.

Family Reacts With Relief and Questions

Milsak’s brother, Jason Hamel, expressed shock and relief at her reappearance. He admitted he had feared the worst, with rumors even suggesting she might have been murdered. Reflecting on the last time he heard from her, he shared deep regret and hopes now to rebuild their relationship and uncover what happened during her absence.

Mental Health Concerns Raised About the Woman

Authorities and family alike had previously noted Milsak’s struggle with mental health issues, especially following the death of another sister in 2023. The emotional trauma—compounded by estrangement from family—may have contributed to her sudden disappearance.

In response, friends and family quickly organized a GoFundMe campaign to assist with her legal defense, mental health treatment, and reintegration efforts. The fundraiser aims to secure her access to supportive services, including counseling and safe housing, as she navigates court proceedings.

Next Steps: Healing or Hiding?

Milsak’s upcoming court date on July 22 will determine how the legal charges proceed. Meanwhile, loved ones hold hope but remain anxious: Were there people who took advantage of her vulnerability? Was she held against her will? As she begins to speak with family and authorities, many anticipate the answers—and the start of a healing journey.
