Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said:

“President Trump is a man of the people and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other president in history.”

she added in a follow-up comment:

“He has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day every day.”

While the explanation seems straightforward, critics remain skeptical. Many pointed out that the bruise appears in the same spot each time, which some believe could indicate something more serious—like an IV site or frequent medical procedure.

Experts Weigh In As Mystery Lingers

The new marks on Trump’s hand first appeared back in February, during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. They came back in April, and now again in July. The repeated appearance in the same location continues to raise eyebrows.

Dr. Ola Otulana, a physician from the UK, offered a possible explanation when the mark reappeared earlier this year:

“This could occur from bumping the hand against something, applying repeated pressure, or from a medical procedure such as a blood draw.”

He also mentioned that older adults often have fragile skin, which could lead to bruising more easily. Still, the use of makeup to cover the hand suggests the Trump team wants to keep it quiet.
