©️ ITV / YouTube
The Oscars are like the big, glitzy party Hollywood throws every year to celebrate the best movies and the people who make them. The actors, directors, writers, and all the folks behind the scenes who bring those magical moments to life. Before we go to the Oscar winners list, let’s learn more about the movie industry’s event of the year.
What Are the Oscars?
First off, films need to be nominated by members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). These are the folks who know their movies inside out and include everyone from actors to directors to cinematographers.
Once the nominations are in, it’s voting time! Academy members cast their votes to pick the winners. It’s like a giant election, but instead of politicians, we’re choosing our favorite movies and performances.
After all the votes are tallied, the winners are announced at the big Oscar ceremony. It’s a star-studded affair with red carpets, fancy dresses, and plenty of excitement. And of course, winners get to take home those iconic golden statuettes, the Oscars!
The Oscars have been around since way back in 1929, so they have got some serious history behind them. Over the years, they have become a symbol of achievement in the movie biz, and winning one is a huge deal for anyone involved in making films.
