Robert Pattinson Was So Afraid of a Movie He Slept With Kitchen Knives

Robert Pattinson might be known for his role as a brooding vampire, but it turns out he’s just like the rest of us when it comes to horror movies!

The actor recently admitted that a terrifying film left him so shaken, that he spent the night clutching two kitchen knives for protection. In a candid moment, Pattinson opened up about his fear and how the movie left him unable to sleep.

Robert Pattinson Reveals He Slept with ‘Two Kitchen Knives’ For This Reason

Robert Pattinson revealed that his tolerance for horror movies has decreased as he’s gotten older. In a conversation with GQ, the 38-year-old actor shared that while he used to enjoy dark films in his youth, he’s now too sensitive to watch them. Bong Joon Ho suggested his fatherhood might be a factor. However, Pattinson admitted that his fear began before becoming a dad, though it might have made it worse.

Robert Pattinson shared with Bong Joon Ho that he recently got “frightened” after watching a specific horror movie before meeting its director for another project. “He’d done this horror movie and I watched it, and I kept thinking that someone was breaking into my house,” Pattinson recalled.

And so I was sitting on my sofa with two kitchen knives, waiting for the person to come in.” He didn’t name the director of the film.

Robert Pattinson continued, saying he fell asleep with the knives near his neck on the couch. His girlfriend, Suki Waterhouse, walked in and asked, “What is happening?! Why do you have two knives in your face and you’re sleeping?!“. Pattinson joked that the noise he heard was probably just a squirrel.

There’s Something Else That Leaves Him “Frightened”

Robert Pattinson admitted that dance scenes also make him nervous. He told Bong Joon Ho that he “was sweating so much” when it came time to film a dance sequence for his upcoming movie Die, My Love, starring Jennifer Lawrence.

Robert Pattinson shared that while filming Die, My Love with Jennifer Lawrence and director Lynne Ramsay, both of them were “really good dancers“. He explained, “They just find it so easy, and they’re like ‘Just dance, it’s just music playing, just dance’“. Pattinson admitted, “I’m telling you, I’m going to have a mental breakdown when this happens. We need to either choreograph it or cut it,” but they responded, “Just dance, stop being a freak.
