Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing yet another accusation of sexual assault as another woman has come forward with allegations dating back to the 1990s. The latest accuser, April Lampros, has filed a lawsuit claiming that Combs drugged and raped her multiple times, beginning when she was a student at New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).
Sean Combs Sexual Assault: A Mentor Turned Alleged Predator
According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Lampros first met Combs in 1995 when he offered to mentor her in the fashion industry. However, this mentorship quickly turned into a nightmare. Lampros alleges that after a night out at a Soho bar, where Combs allegedly overserved her alcohol, he took her back to his room at the Millennium Hotel.
There, she claims, he began to force himself on her despite her protests. Lampros described feeling “the walls were closing in on her” and was conscious but unable to defend herself during the assault. She woke up the next morning “nude, sore and confused.”
Pattern of Abuse and Threats
Lampros’s suit details a series of abusive encounters with Combs over the next few years. After months of silence, Combs reached out again, inviting her to VIP music industry events. Naively hoping the first incident was a one-time mistake, Lampros accepted his invitations. However, during one such encounter in a parking garage, she alleges that Combs forced her to perform oral sex on him while a parking attendant looked on and did nothing. Following this, Lampros tried to distance herself from Combs, but he allegedly responded with constant angry calls and threats to blacklist her from the industry, describing his behavior as that of a “mobster.”
Forced Drug Use and Further Assaults
In a particularly disturbing incident in 1996, Lampros claims Combs “ordered” her to his apartment, where he introduced her to his late ex-girlfriend, model Kim Porter. Lampros alleges that Combs forced her to take ecstasy and commanded her to have sex with Porter while he watched and masturbated. She claims Combs raped her again during this encounter.
Ongoing Trauma and Legal Battles
Lampros and Combs cut ties in 1998, but she continued to face harassment. She alleges that Porter falsely accused her of attempting to poison her, leading to Lampros being fired from her job at a restaurant.
Years later, in 2023, Lampros discovered that Combs had allegedly recorded a sex tape of her without her knowledge and showed it to others, further exacerbating her trauma.
Multiple Accusations Against Combs
Lampros is the seventh person to accuse Combs of sexual assault in the past six months, following a high-profile lawsuit by Cassie Ventura in November. Other accusers include Joi Dickerson-Neal, Liza Gardner, and Crystal McKinney, each detailing similar patterns of drugging, sexual assault, and threats.
Combs’s Denial and Legal Challenges
Combs has denied all allegations against him. Despite the mounting accusations, he has not been charged with any crimes. In April, federal agents raided his California and Florida mansions as part of a Department of Homeland Security investigation into human trafficking. Combs’s representatives have dismissed the allegations as fabricated and part of a “money grab.”
Industry Fallout
The allegations have had significant repercussions for Combs’s career. He stepped down from the chairmanship of his Revolt TV media company last year, and numerous companies have severed ties with him. Liquor giant Diageo ended their partnership with Combs in January, affecting his involvement with the tequila brand DeLeón and Cîroc vodka.
Seeking Justice
Lampros’s lawsuit seeks monetary damages and other relief for the physical and emotional harm she claims to have suffered due to Combs’s actions. As more women come forward, the music mogul’s legal and public relations battles continue to intensify, casting a long shadow over his legacy in the entertainment industry.
