The tennis superstar shared the heartwarming news on her social media accounts, accompanied by a photo of her and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, cradling their newborn daughter.

Back in February, Williams had spoken about her decision to step away from tennis temporarily to focus on expanding her family. She reassured her that she was working on it, acknowledging that her tennis career had taken a bit longer than expected.

In an essay for Vogue last August, Williams declared, “I have never liked the word retirement. Maybe the best word to describe what I’m up to is evolution.”
