Stranded in the seclusion of her family’s rural homestead, Pearl’s responsibilities weigh heavily on her shoulders as she cares for her ailing father, all while enduring the oppressive scrutiny of her deeply religious and domineering mother. Her desperate pursuit of fame becomes not just a dream but a lifeline, a glimmer of hope in an otherwise bleak and stifling environment.
