Tom Holland, 29, was taken to the hospital after a stunt accident while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Watford, UK. The incident occurred on September 19, 2025, at Leavesden Studios. Holland reportedly fell during a stunt and hit his head. He was treated for a mild concussion and cleared by medical staff.
Filming was immediately suspended after the accident so that Holland could recover. His father, comedian Dominic Holland, said that Tom will be stepping away from production “for a while.”
Production Delay & Health Update
As a precautionary measure, production on Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been paused for several days. It is not yet clear whether the schedule will require a longer hiatus depending on Holland’s recovery. Sources say the injury is not serious but needs rest and monitoring.
Holland was seen attending a charity event the next day with his fiancée Zendaya and his father, though he left early after reportedly feeling unwell.
Cast, Movie Details & Stakes
This upcoming film is part of a fresh new Spider-Man trilogy, with Holland returning as Peter Parker. Brand New Day is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026. Castmates include Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando, and others.
Given the large budget and fan expectations, the movie’s timing is high-stakes. Any delay or scheduling disruption could ripple through production, post-production, and marketing.
What’s Known & What’s Still Unclear
Here’s what we do know so far:
- Holland sustained a concussion from what is being described as a stunt fall.
- A female stunt double was reportedly also taken to the hospital, though other reports say nobody else was injured.
- Holland’s father confirmed he’ll be off set “for a while.”

Open questions:
- How long the delay will be overall, and whether it will affect the release date.
- The exact nature of the stunt, what went wrong technically, and whether further safety assessments will be made.
- What condition Holland is in now (beyond initial concussion), and how filming will be adapted to accommodate his recovery.
