More About Seventeen

SEVENTEEN’s journey to becoming a leading international K-pop group has been gradual since their 2015 debut. Known for their self-producing talents, the 13 members excel in songwriting, choreographing, singing, rapping, and dancing, which has solidified their strong reputation in the industry.

The number represents the total of 13 members, the three sub-groups they divide into, and the one team they form when united.

With 13 members, it can be difficult to highlight individual talents in a few-minute song. SEVENTEEN addresses this with a sub-group system: the hip-hop unit (S. Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon), the vocal unit (Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, Seungkwan), and the performance unit (Hoshi, Jun, The8, Dino) each focus on rapping, singing, and dancing, respectively.

They record both as individual units and as a full group. Additionally, special units like the “Leaders” and the comedic trio BSS (Seungkwan, DK, Hoshi) are formed for variety.
