Fans have been eagerly anticipating the pairing of Deadpool and Wolverine on the big screen, and now the official movie teaser and poster have been revealed. Both Deadpool and Wolverine have had successful standalone films, but the idea of them teaming up has been a dream come true for fans. And to make the anticipation even more worth the wait, Ryan Reynolds dropped a new ‘Deadpool & Wolverine” movie teaser and poster.
What We Know So Far About the Deadpool and Wolverine Movie
“Deadpool & Wolverine” is scheduled for release on July 26, 2024. Directed by Shawn Levy, the film features Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine. Although it’s not officially titled “Deadpool 3,” it’s closely associated with the Deadpool franchise, with Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, Ryan Reynolds, and Levy serving as co-writers.
During CinemaCon, Levy was heard saying: “As far as crafting the Deadpool and Wolverine story, I just felt privileged every day because you’re talking about two massive movie stars in their most iconic roles. It also gave me an opportunity. It’s the third Deadpool movie, but it’s not Deadpool 3. It’s a different thing that’s very much Deadpool and Wolverine. And it’s not trying to copycat anything from the first two movies. They were awesome, but this is a two-hander character adventure.”
Initial Teaser Release
The excitement for “Deadpool & Wolverine” escalated even more with a new teaser released, which hinted at a forthcoming full trailer. The teaser showcases an emotional plea from Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) to Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), urging the elder X-man to team up. It begins with a shot reminiscent of “Deadpool 2,” showing a music box with an impaled Logan, accompanied by a slow, dramatic score, setting a poignant tone.
In the teaser, Deadpool addresses Wolverine, referencing his eventual retirement from wielding the claws and the sadness it will bring. However, Deadpool hints at a future request for Wolverine to return to action, urging him to say yes when the time comes. The implication suggests the potential involvement of time travel in getting Logan back into action. Ryan Reynolds shared an extended version of the mid-credits sequence from “Deadpool 2,” featuring this teaser quote.
