Gwen Stefani Gets Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Stefani, the celebrated 54-year-old singer, marked a momentous occasion in her life by receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The star-studded event took place on a Thursday. Additionally, her three kids, Kingston (17), Zuma (15), and Apollo (9), as well as her husband Blake Shelton (47) were present.
During the ceremony, Stefani’s boys were photographed sitting together, looking dapper in matching navy suits, while Kingston stood out in a stylish striped suit. The singer herself wore a silver sparkly dress adorned with stars, which perfectly complemented the Hollywood glamour of the occasion. She sat beside her husband, Blake Shelton, who was on the other side of their son Apollo, showing strong family support for this special moment in Stefani’s career.
Gwen Stefani’s Musical Legacy
Gwen Stefani’s impressive three-decade career as a female artist in a challenging industry, marked by limited recognition for women, has earned her respect from her peers. Her friend Shirley Manson, who befriended her during the ’90s alt-rock era, commends Stefani for her instincts in navigating the music business. Stefani’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a testament to her enduring success.
Stefani’s life and career have always had a strong family influence. She recently shared a childhood photo on Instagram in which she was wearing an outfit made by her mother. This sparked her interest in making clothes, as both her mother and grandmother crafted their own attire. Stefani’s very first time onstage was in an ’80s talent show at her high school. Moreover, she sang “On My Radio” by the British ska-revival band the Selecter, urged by her older brother. Her choice of outfit for the performance was influenced by “The Sound of Music,” inspired by Maria’s dress in the film. This family connection and her love for fashion played an essential role in her journey.
“No Doubt”? More Like Plenty!
Gwen Stefani’s early doubts about her singing ability and her use of lyrics during a high school talent show marked a pivotal moment in her life. This led to the ignition of her passion for music. This led to the formation of No Doubt in 1986 when she was 17. The group also consisted of her brother Eric on keyboards and songwriting. The band later welcomed Tony Kanal, who would become her first serious boyfriend, on bass. By 1989, guitarist Tom Dumont and drummer Adrian Young had also joined. Drawing inspiration from British ska bands like the Specials, Madness, and the Beat, along with California groups influenced by that scene, such as Fishbone, No Doubt established themselves in the Southern California music scene. Stefani recalls their early fame, describing them as famous but within a relatively small and supportive community.
