Pat McGrath’s Porcelain Doll Makeup Is All You Need to See Right Now
Renowned makeup artist McGrath’s viral creation of porcelain skin has captivated social media users. The detailed glass-like texture was created with a specific liquid, a professional makeup product applied similarly to latex on the skin. Additionally, a TikTok breakdown by @frontedbeauty highlighted this technique and a model revealed removing the makeup involved in peeling off a thin latex layer from her face after the show.
Pat McGrath drew inspiration from creative director John Galliano’s collection, exploring emotional expression through clothing rituals. McGrath created a porcelain doll-like appearance by bleaching models’ brows and drawing thin arches. Moreover, the makeup involved blush for a doll-like flush, eye palettes for a painterly eye with jewel tones and pastels, and lipstick in shades of blood red or black for lips. The final touch also had a nude gloss.
