From classical to contemporary, the playlist promises to reveal the tunes that make the King tick!

King Charles Shares Apple Music Playlist
King Charles III shared his love for music in a new collaboration with Apple Music, unveiling a playlist titled The King’s Music Room. In an Instagram video posted on the royal family’s official account, the King expressed how music has played an important role in his life, bringing comfort during both joyful and sorrowful moments. The playlist features some of his favorite artists and songs.
King Charles III shared that music has a unique ability to evoke happy memories, comfort during sadness, transport us to distant places, and lift our spirits, especially when it brings people together in celebration.

The Royal Family Is Happy About it!
The Royal Family’s website revealed that King Charles III’s playlist, released on Commonwealth Day (March 10), includes artists like Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, as well as contemporary talents like Davido and RAYE.
It also described “The King’s Music Room” as a playlist that will surprise and delight music fans, offering a more personal side of His Majesty.
The King will also share anecdotes about his encounters with some of the featured artists and explain why their songs have become part of the soundtrack to his life.
The Video
Throughout the Instagram video, you can hear King Charles III saying the following:
“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also the case for so many others.”
“It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories flooding back from the deepest recesses of our memory, to comfort us in times of sadness, and to take us to distant places. But perhaps, above all, it can lift our spirits to such a degree, and all the more so when it brings us together in celebration. In other words, it brings us joy.”

The caption also said:
“Bringing together much-loved artists from across the Commonwealth, The King has shared a selection of songs which have brought him joy in ‘The King’s Music Room’ to mark Commonwealth Day 2025.
Recorded at Buckingham Palace, His Majesty provides anecdotes of his personal experiences when explaining why each song was chosen.”
