Trump offered no evidence, echoing recent remarks by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard accused the Obama administration of a “treasonous conspiracy” and threatened to refer officials to the Justice Department.

Russia has denied any wrongdoing, and investigations have confirmed no votes were altered.

Obama Statement on Trump Treason Claim Rejects Allegations

Barack Obama, through his spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush, issued a sharp response. He said the accusations are “outrageous,” “bizarre,” and “ridiculous.”

“Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation,” Rodenbush stated. “But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one.”

He referred to a 2020 bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report, which confirmed that Russia worked to help Trump win the election—especially through WikiLeaks and GOP operative Paul Manafort.

Rodenbush emphasized that recent claims do not alter that conclusion.
