Jeremy Meeks — once dubbed “the world’s hottest felon” after a mugshot went viral in 2014 — is now 41 and almost unrecognizable from the man who shot to internet fame. His transformation spans modeling, acting, fashion deals, and a business reinvention that few would have predicted a decade ago.

How the “Hot Felon” Phenomenon Began

His journey to fame was unusual. In June 2014, Meeks was arrested during a gang sweep in Stockton, California. The police released his mugshot, featuring piercing blue eyes and a strong jawline. The image exploded online, earning thousands of reactions almost immediately. That viral moment changed everything.

What began as an internet fascination evolved into a real opportunity. Even before his release, modeling offers were on the table.

A Reinvention Through Fashion & Film

After being released from prison in 2016, Meeks signed with White Cross Management and dove into fashion. He’s walked runways for major designers like Philipp Plein and Tommy Hilfiger, and his polished, high-fashion appearance today is a far cry from the raw virality of his earlier image.

On the acting side, Meeks has taken roles in films such as Trigger, True to the Game 2 & 3, and Secret Society. He’s also secured a substantial fashion deal — reportedly $15 million — to launch his own clothing line.

In 2024, he released his autobiography, Model Citizen, in which he opened up more about his past, his struggles, and how he envisions his future.

The Man Behind the Headline

Meeks hasn’t just changed his public image — he’s reshaped his life. He’s a father of two boys, Jeremy Jr. (with ex-wife Melissa) and Jayden (with former partner Chloe Green). As of mid-2025, he states he is single and focusing on his own growth.

His childhood was far from stable: he has spoken openly about being born into addiction, losing close family ties, and dealing with trauma early.

Meeks has said his goal is to “provide for my family and really change my life” — and, by many measures, he appears to be doing just that.

Why His Story Still Captivates

  • Redemption narrative: Few viral sensations translate into sustained careers. Meeks’ success is notable precisely because he moved from meme status to a multi-faceted media career.
  • Image vs identity: The “hot felon” label remains a hook, but his current public persona leans into style, professionalism, and transformation.
  • Culture and second chances: His journey prompts reflection on how society views forgiveness, reinvention, and the power of perception.
